Individuals who breach regulations under the Movement Control Order (MCO) may now be fined up to RM10,000.
Meanwhile, companies that violate MCO regulations will be liable to a maximum fine of up to RM50,000.
This is following the Emergency (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases) (Amendment) Ordinance 2021 which was published on the Federal Gazette website today.
The new law will take effect on March 11.
The Ordinance also stated that any person who breached the law for “which no penalty is expressly provided” could face a maximum fine up to RM100,000 or a jail term of up to seven years.
