Nicholas Fung was in sizzling form at Saujana Golf and Country Club as he fired a third round 69 at the Maybank Championship to stay on course for his best ever finish in a European Tour event.
His three-day total of six-under 210 sees him tied for 13th, seven shots behind leader Nacho Elvira of Spain, who shot a sensational six-under 66 for a three-day total of 13-under 203.

Malaysian No 1 Gavin Green also shot 69 and is in joint 30th on three-under 213.
Second round leader Thomas Pieters of Belgium fluffed his lines and slid down the leaderboard after a dismal six-over 78. He is two-under 214 going into tomorrow’s final round.
Crowd favourite South African Ernie Els stayed in touch with the leaders after also shooting a 69 to lie joint sixth on nine-under 207.
“The pin placements were much better and this helped me go low today. Of course, I still had to make birdies,” said Fung.
The tournament holds happy memories for the Sabahan as it was here three years ago where he recorded his best finish in a European Tour event by finishing joint 24th.
The event is co-sanctioned by the Asian and European Tours.
Going into tomorrow’s final round, he said: “Everybody knows Cobra (Palm Course nickname) is tough, so I need to just get it on the fairway, get on the greens and sink some putts.
“One reason for my good round was the support of my parents and fiancee as well as the Malaysian fans.”
