Malaysia Mixed Martial Arts Association (MASMMAA) president Rashid Salleh has made it his mission to take care of mixed martial artists.
And he will take it up a level with the introduction of Caged In – an online game show not just for the MMA community but open to the public.
The objective is to raise funds for the needy ones in the community.
“We launched the programme on Monday when we had our first Facebook live programme,” said Rashid.
“It got a lot of people talking. We are finalising the details of the event but it is something we can host during the Movement Control Order (MCO) or post-MCO as it is an online competition.”
There will be eight categories – Over 50 Masters (male and female combined), 35-50 male and female, 18-35 male and female, and three youth categories Under-18, Under-16 and Under-13 which sees boys and girls going up against each other.
“Among the games or exercises will be doing like 20 each of burpees, squats and sit-ups and the fastest person to complete the challenge will be the winner,” said Rashid.
“Entry fee is only RM5 and all proceeds will be used to help those in the MMA community.
“Initially, we planned to open it only to the MMA community but if the response if great, then we will open it to all.”
He added he has two young talents to be the hosts.
“We are also sourcing for sponsors and will make the announcement when we finalise everything.”
He said the show might be split into two due to the various age groups.
